Argentina Football Federation extends partnership with Konami

On Wednesday, July 31, the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) announced on its website and social media that it had extended its commercial agreement with Konami until 2027.

Through this partnership, eFootball players will be able to continue to use the official Argentina national team kit in-game. The AFA also announced that Konami-organized competitions will allow transfer of match tickets, swimsuits and “exclusive experiences.”

“We are very pleased to announce the renewal of a new agreement with Konami, one of the most important video game companies in the world. Since we have chosen this direction, we have focused a lot on the digital development of AFA and everything related to eSports. Konami is a leading multinational company that has supported us in the global expansion process that began in 2018, along with many companies that trust AFA as a strategic partner. Thank you to the entire Konami team for their trust in our institution,” said AFA President Claudio Tapia.

“We know and are very clear that these agreements are very important for the positioning of our brand worldwide and in particular among the younger audiences who consume these games and find a way to feel closer to the team. As part of the global expansion strategy of the AFA brand, which we have been developing since 2018, this agreement is strategic and allows us to continue to develop in new markets and with new audiences.”

“We are proud of our ongoing partnership with the Argentine Football Federation. The journey from the beginning of our relationship to the World Cup and most recently the Copa America has been incredible. The pride and passion for Argentine football is unmatched and we are thrilled to witness our history as partners. We are united by the simple value of love for football and will continue to strengthen this partnership as such,” said Yuta Kose, President of Konami Digital Entertainment.
