Konami Digital Entertainment BV is proud to announce that it has selected the Italian telecommunications company Open Fiber as the Official Sponsor of the eFootball Italia Cup. Thus, Open Fiber becomes the first and main partner of KONAMI’s latest eFootball initiative.
Open Fiber will become an integral part of the eFootball Italia Cup and will be visible in play during the KONAMICI tournament, as well as contributing to the final prize pool, designed to create a state-of-the-art multimedia gaming area to be installed in the winning club’s youth facilities.
What is the eFootball Italia Cup? The eFootball Italia Cup is a new eSports tournament featuring seven partner clubs from KONAMI. These are Milan, Monza, Roma, Atalanta, Internazionale, Lazio and Napoli.
In the tournament, three different types of players will team up to represent each of the competing clubs. A selected player from the youth teams of the participating clubs, a professional player who is currently part of the club’s esports team, and a club fan selected in the KONAMICI online qualifier.
Andrea Falessi, Director of External Relations at Open Fiber, said: “Open Fiber has been in the gaming world for several years now and the community response has always been very positive. 2023 will be full of initiatives to raise awareness of the need for fiber to enable enthusiasts to have fun and compete at the highest level with infinitely low latency and performance for professionals. The Open Fiber network is best suited to support current and future generations in entertainment, learning and work. Collaboration with a giant like Konami opens up new opportunities for future initiatives.”
