This module enforces the UEFA substitution regulations: 5 substitutions in regular time + 1 additional substitution in extra time.
Module Description:
This module implements match settings in accordance with UEFA player substitution regulations.
According to current UEFA regulations, teams are allowed five substitutions in regular time. However, if the match goes into extra time, an additional substitution is allowed. This gives coaches greater flexibility in managing player fatigue and making tactical adjustments during long matches.
The script reflects this rule as follows:
• Determines the base number of substitutions () for each competition.
• Automatically detects when a match goes into extra time.
• Allows one additional substitution in extra time, in addition to the five allowed in the regular game.
In practice, this means:
• During regular time: 5 substitutions are available.
• During extra time: 1 additional substitution becomes available (6 in total).
This behavior complies with official UEFA competition rules and ensures that gameplay follows the same substitution logic as in real-life competitions.
