As usual, Konami is very reserved in its messages about the next opus of its football simulator. If any official or unofficial information is already known, then rumors about eFootball 2025 are spreading on social networks, where, as usual, the Latin American community is very active in discussing this topic.
Here’s a quick update about a month before eFootball 2025 expected release date, which should coincide with the release of version 4.0.0 of the game.
End of the contract system in Dream Team (official)
The main new feature officially announced by Konami for the 2025 edition concerns the main mode of eFootball. The contract system will disappear, and you will be able to use your cards without a time limit in the “Dream Team” mode. The contract system will disappear, and you will be able to use your cards without a time limit.
Cards in your possession whose contracts expired during the 4.0.0 rollout will be automatically reactivated. Players who still have 10-day or 60-day contract extensions remaining will receive compensation, the nature of which Konami will specify at a later date.
Deleting Inactive Accounts (Official)
Accounts that have been inactive for more than six months after the release of eFootball version 4.0.0 will be deleted and it will not be possible to recover a deleted account. An account is considered active if the player logs in and receives daily rewards at least once per semester.
Renewed Partnership (Official)
Konami and the Argentine Football Federation announced this summer that the partnership between eFootball and the Argentina national team has been extended until 2027. The reigning World and America’s champions will appear in the game with their logos and official uniforms for at least three seasons.
Ended Partnerships (Official)
The partnership between Konami and Italian clubs AS Roma, SSC Napoli and AC Monza ended this summer. The logos and official kits of these teams were already removed from eFootball during its latest update and will not appear in the next release.
Removal of three languages (official)
In a notice published on August 1st, Konami states that Greek, Dutch and Swedish will no longer be available in the text version in the next version of eFootball. Greek will also be removed from the comments.
Release Date Revealed? (Rumor)
In another notice posted on July 27, Konami revealed that the campaigns and events related to the MyLeague mode in eFootball 2024, which were originally scheduled to end on August 1, have finally been extended to September 11. Some speculate that this could be the release date for eFootball 2025.
Licenses terminated (leak)
According to the famous French data miner Durandil67, in the next version of eFootball, four championships should lose their official license: the Swiss Super League, the Danish Super League 3F, the Brazilian Serie B and the Chilean Campeonato Itaú.
However, these four leagues must remain in e-football in an unofficial form, with common names, logos and uniforms. Players in these leagues must maintain their real identity thanks to the FIFPro license.
On the other hand, the presence of the French (Ligue 1 McDonalds and Ligue 2 BKT) and Dutch (Eredivisie) championships under full official license is confirmed for next season, but it could be the last for the Eredivisie, whose contract with Konami expires next June 2025.
Big update in November? (leaked)
According to an Instagram post by Indonesian Football Electronic League (IFeL) President Wiramahesa Putra Sutopo, in addition to the new features introduced in eFootball version 4.0.0, another major update is expected to arrive in November at the start of the school year.
The current trend is that the new features for the start of the school year are mostly focused on the Dream Team and MyLeague modes. There is no talk of a return of the Master League (offline career mode) or the Edit Mode (in-game editor) at this time.
