This Friday, July 1st, Italian club Inter Milan and Konami announced a new global and exclusive multi-year partnership starting with the 2022/2023 season, with no duration specified.
But according to Daniele Mari, an Italian journalist who works for the Reuters news agency, among others, the partnership is for six years and Konami would pay €45 million for it.
In addition to the return to the game of the official license of the Lombard Club, the eFootball logo will appear on the training and pre-match uniforms of the club’s men’s, women’s and youth teams. As part of this partnership, Konami acquires the naming rights to the women’s and youth teams’ training facility. The Inter Academy will henceforth be called the Konami Youth Development Center in memory of Giacinto Facchetti.
A press release published on the official website of the Milanese club mentions an esports project, the details of which will be revealed a little later.
Inter general manager Alessandro Antonello hails “a clear commitment that renews a bond that began several years ago and will continue into the future, based on shared values and goals.”
“Joining forces with a club as big as Inter is very exciting for Konami,” said Naoki Morita, president of Konami Digital Entertainment Europe. “With the name of the academy, the presence of the eFootball logo on training uniforms, and esports-related projects, we at Konami know this partnership will be fruitful now and in the long term.”
Inter will become the seventh Italian eFootball partner club in the 2022-23 season, along with AC Milan, Lazio, Roma, Atalanta, Napoli and Monza.
